Strengthening customer relationships to support the next phase of growth
Impact Environmental Group (IEG) is pleased to announce the promotion of Kevin Docherty to the newly created role of Head of Field Containers Sales, reinforcing the Group’s commitment to strengthening customer partnerships and delivering a more focused approach to waste container sales across the UK.
The appointment marks an important milestone in IEG’s continued evolution as a comprehensive partner to the waste and recycling industry. As customer requirements become increasingly complex and procurement expectations continue to evolve, the business is investing in experienced leadership to ensure customers receive expert guidance, responsive support and long-term value from their waste infrastructure.
Kevin brings decades of experience within the waste and recycling sector and has established an outstanding reputation for delivering results through trusted customer relationships, technical knowledge and a deep understanding of Local Authority and commercial waste operations.
Having successfully led sales activity across Scotland and the North of England, Kevin has consistently supported customers in developing waste infrastructure that balances operational efficiency, sustainability and long-term asset value. His collaborative approach has earned the trust of councils, contractors and private sector organisations alike, making him one of the most respected figures within the industry.
“I joined Egbert Taylor 16 years ago and came into an industry that I didn’t have any experience of.
During that time I’m proud to have built an extensive knowledge of the waste industry and the challenges that my customers face on a day to day basis. I’m delighted to have been recognised for the work that I have done. With the support that IEG have given me and my colleagues, I’m sure the future is bright too.”
– Kevin Docherty

Throughout his career, Kevin has developed a thorough understanding of the challenges facing organisations responsible for waste management. From navigating procurement frameworks and specifying new waste containers to identifying opportunities for refurbishment and lifecycle management, his focus has always remained the same—helping customers make informed decisions that deliver measurable value.
In his new role, Kevin will lead IEG’s Field Bin Sales function, bringing greater consistency to customer engagement while supporting the continued integration of the Group’s manufacturing, refurbishment and lifecycle service capabilities.
The appointment also reflects a broader strategic focus for IEG.
Rather than simply supplying waste containers, the Group is investing in a consultative sales approach that helps customers identify the most appropriate solutions for their specific operational requirements. Whether supporting Local Authorities with fleet renewal programmes, advising commercial operators on asset optimisation or helping organisations extend the life of existing containers through refurbishment, the objective is to build long-term partnerships founded on expertise and trust.
Commenting on the appointment, Sales and Marketing Director, Daniel Parsons said:
“Kevin has earned enormous respect throughout the waste and recycling industry through his professionalism, technical knowledge and unwavering commitment to customers. His promotion recognises the impact he has already made across Scotland and the North of England, while positioning us to strengthen our customer relationships nationally as we continue to grow.
As Head of Field Container Sales, Kevin will play a key role in shaping our customer strategy, supporting our sales teams and ensuring we continue to provide the expertise and service our customers expect from Impact Environmental Group.”
The creation of the Head of Field Container Sales role reflects IEG’s continued investment in its people and its ambition to build a national team capable of supporting customers throughout the entire lifecycle of their waste assets.
With UK manufacturing, container refurbishment, waste container accessories and compaction solutions all under one organisation, IEG continues to strengthen its position as a trusted partner for organisations seeking smarter, more sustainable waste management solutions.
As the business looks towards the next chapter of its development, Kevin’s appointment provides customers with the reassurance that IEG is investing in experienced leadership, strengthening its field presence and continuing to place customer relationships at the heart of everything it does.
